Hotel Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana

Average: $200 per night
I rate it: 4/5

With thousands of accommodation options in Bali - hotels, resorts, villas, B&B, hostels etc, we are all spoilt for choice when it comes to Bali, isn't it?

The last time I stayed at a villa in Sanur, and did not enjoy it that much. This time, I went with Pullman, which is a renowned chain by AccorHotels.

Great location, just across the street from Legian beach, and situated in the heart of Legian. Hundreds of cafes, bars and shopping streets are a stone's throw away.

In fact, this may also be the downside, because the area is so popular with tourists, the roads are perpetually jammed (unless it's 6.30am). It takes 15 mins just to make a U-turn!

The hotel is very pristine and beautiful. Lawns are well-manicured and there was hardly a speck of dust spotted.

The infinity pool is famous for its view of Legian beach. Come evenings, the pool is filled with tourists having drinks while comfortably dipped in the warm water.

We got a complimentary upgrade (yay!) and the room was so spacious! The bed was extremely comfortable, bathroom was really swanky and the room service was prompt.

Service staff all spoke good English and were always smiling. We were pleasantly surprised to learn of a complimentary photography session for all guests, and took home a nice photo as souvenir.

Everything was great, except for the food. I find it strange that a reputable hotel like Pullman serves such bland, bad food. The buffet breakfast had a good selection, but everything was either cold, stale or tasteless. The coffee machine was also not working. We really did not enjoy the food at all.

Check-out was very fast and within seconds, we were on the way to the airport.

Overall, great option if you intend to stay in the Legian/Kuta area! Hopefully the food improves over time, and I might return on my next trip to Bali.
