Words cannot even express how much I love this hotel. If you Google images of the hotel, you will see many people holding their weddings here and it is easy to see why.

Having seen amazing pictures of it, I was really excited to be spending 3 days here. We arrived at the start of winter and it was rather quiet.

The property sits on a secluded spot near the ocean, surrounded by mountains with views of Snæfellsjökull glacier and the vast nature. It is in an unrivaled location to explore the Snæfellsnes peninsula.

The black church is mere steps away on a gradual slope, and we had a room that faces the church. It was so lovely waiting out for the Northern Lights near the church.

Check-in was swift and the rooms are warmly decorated. The bed was extraordinarily comfortable, we slept really well. Lobby and lounge area are also very beautifully decorated and makes guests feel welcomed.

On to the highlight - absolutely outstanding food at the restaurant. We had read about the restaurant and decided to try the three-course dinner, which turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. The truffle mushroom soup, fish, steak and dessert were all out of this world. The restaurant was really cosy and we sat for hours in the wonderful ambience. We were told that in summer, it gets so packed there are three seatings for dinner. So we were very lucky to be one of the few guests on both nights.

Such a classy and romantic hotel, you have to try it to believe it.
This is surely one of my personal favorites and I cannot wait to return in summer!
