Best Western Hotel Taipa

Average: $120 per night
I rate it: 1/5

Being in bustling Macau where hotels cater to casino-goers, I was out of choice because I did not need a whole suite, and there are many blockout periods for hotels there as well.

It was really a last resort that I went with this hotel, which left me miserable.

It is located in the old 'part' of Macau, and there is nothing around it. Of course there are plenty of hotels around, but they are all a short drive away. There is no convenience store or shopping mall nearby.

A very basic hotel, there is just a small cafe which operates only a few hours.

The staff were very laidback and could not speak English well. I was given a room next to the store, so it was pretty spooky for me. The walls were hollow too, so I could hear the lifts the whole night and people from other rooms.

I remember the bed being rock solid hard and the lights were dim.

Everything in the hotel worked extremely slowly.

I was very glad that it was just a night's stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, unless you do not mind a night of spook or are on a very tight budget.
