The Amazing Noovilu

Average: $125 per night
I rate it: 4/5

Located on Mahibadhoo, a 1.5hour ferry ride away from Malé, is this cozy guesthouse. I read that many guests come from all over the world to spent days and even weeks at this guesthouse and I had to visit to experience.

Although we spent a considerably short time of 3 days, we still had a good time with Mazin, the wonderful host, and his family. His brothers also took us around and served as guides when we went to snorkel and visit the sandbank.

Everyone is really hospitable and tries their best to make your experience memorable.

Homecooked meals are always with Mazin and his family, who tells us jokes and shares stories with us.

There is adequate time to lie on the sand, soak in the water and read a book. Mazin can also arrange for water sports or other excursions if time and weather permits. We did not get to see the whale sharks or dolphins but we watched a most breathtaking sunset out at sea.

The island is small and simple. Convenient shops are open for long hours and streets are always filled with happy families. Of course, the island is incredibly beautiful just like postcards - azure blue skies, soft sandy beaches, clear waters, swaying palm trees... You will feel like you went back in time with no worries at all.

I completely agree with Mazin who recommends staying at least a week to fully experience what Mahibadhoo has to offer!
